Was still feeling a little bit dodgy this morning, but by early afternoon was right as rain again. Mark said yesterday around 3pm the waves were the biggest he'd sailed in yet here, so was gutted that I wasn't here yesterday pm, but looking forward to more of the same again today hopefully.

Had lunch and then went out at roughly mid-tide at 2pm, and scored a quality session. Wind was howling again, but maybe just a couple of knots less than 2 days ago on average, and some big holes in it as well from time to time. Once more my cheap-as-chips old falling-apart 4.6 coped admirably with the job, never overpowering me even in the biggest gusts, and as always was very light, manouverable and comfortable to sail. The waves were there but no bigger than any other days; waist to boom high at best. The tide was probably a bit early for them to be at their best size (they looked bigger later on after I had come off the water when the tide was higher, about 2 hours before high water).

So another great scare-myself-silly session in the honking winds. Also was sailing well, really getting to grips with the full on conditions. Made all my gybes on the inside dry and with some confidence and also improved exits. (Apart from one....but I'll blame that on the wave that knocked me off at just the wrong time, i.e whilst I was flipping the rig). Also one smooth tack on the inside out of 3 or 4 attempts, and a few dry (but wobbly) gybes on the outside. To top it all off, at least 3 decent wave-rides, and one cool one where I caught the wave at just the right time, bottom turned on it and then really took off as I cut back on the lip (albeit only semi in control....). Nice. Starting to get the hang of wave-selection a bit better now as well.

Great to be right back on form again and have such a good session after yesterdays disappointing (and demoralising...) effort. Once more I'm itching to slap 5 stars onto this one, but as usual performance not quite perfect enough, so it's only 4 again (and a half...).
